Emilyann Pannkuk, 8th grade, proudly participated in the Legislative Page Program at the Capitol from March 9–13, serving alongside Senator John Braun.

Mrs. Richardson’s sixth graders recently had a hands-on lesson in real-world financial skills thanks to the support of Peak Credit Union. As part of their study on budgeting, students welcomed Mrs. Amanda Stevens from Peak Credit Union to learn about the importance of saving, investing, and managing money wisely.

Amanda shared practical tips and real-life examples to help students understand how budgeting decisions today can impact their futures. Students were engaged and eager to ask questions as they explored ways to set financial goals and make smart spending choices.

We are incredibly grateful to Peak Credit Union for always supporting our school district and investing in the success of our students. A special thank you to Mrs. Amanda Stevens for sharing her time and expertise to help our sixth graders build strong financial foundations!

What a wonderful evening at our Middle School Sweethearts Dance on February 7th! 💃🕺

Students, families, and special guests filled the night with laughter, music, and memories that will last a lifetime. From moms and sons to dads and daughters — and even grandparents — it was so special to see our school community come together to celebrate.

Our 8th-grade students have been traveling to Napavine to participate in Centralia College’s Mobile Trades Lab. During their visits, students engage in hands-on simulations that mimic welding, operating a bulldozer and forklift, and running a harvester and loader. Through this experience, students are learning more about careers in the skilled trades and discovering how exciting it can be to operate heavy equipment.

Thank you to Centralia College for providing this incredible opportunity for our students!

In Mrs. Richardson’s middle school classroom, students are learning what it means to think and work like real engineers 🔧💡. As they explore the world of circuits ⚡, students begin by asking questions and defining problems ❓, such as how to make a light turn on or a buzzer sound.

Next, they develop and use models ✏️📐 by drawing circuit designs and predicting how different components will work together. Students then plan and carry out investigations 🔬 by testing their ideas with wires, batteries, and bulbs 🔋💡 to see what works and what does not.

Along the way, students learn that mistakes are part of the process 💭🔄. By constructing explanations and designing solutions 🛠️, they revise their designs, explain their thinking, and improve their circuits. Through hands-on learning, collaboration 🤝, and problem-solving 🧠, Mrs. Richardson’s students are building confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation in science and engineering 🚀.
